Bosley experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I read through most of the reviews which are negative. I am glad that I made a decision not to do the transplant almost 7 years back. Though I was all excited and ready for the transplant. I talked to thw consultant, since I have a small bald area in the front of the head, they did an analysis and said it would cost me 4000 dollar. So they did not tell me anything about the side effect on that day. That is why I was excited and scheduled for the surgery. Just moments before the surgery i meet with the doctor and the doctor showed me photographs of few patients and told me that there are chances that there would be a hair fall for the rest of my natural hair and I have to put wig, though he said it was temprorary. With my first appointment the consultants never told me about this side affect. I didnt like the idea of rest of my hair falling from my hear even though it was temprorary. Than I thought about what would be the quality of the hair once it regrows ...will it still be same or thinner. I backed out immediately and told the doctor i had no idea about the side affects. Glad i backed out that day. I still have bald spot but i cover it with my hair. I was never confident because of my hair loss. Though with time i am used to it now. When i was young i used go think a lot about my hair.but now i am 34 and it doesnt bother me much to the extend that i need to do a surgery. And the hair fall has not increased may be that is also one of the reason. It is the same bald spot which i had almost most of my entire life..and i have accepted the fact that i should have to die with that... :( ....too bad there is no miracle technology even in this 21st century...all we have are lies... and fraud...and regrets for lifetime...for people who did the transplant.

Transplants Didn't Provide Coverage They Advertised

I said I wanted my hair to look like the guys on the commercial. One transplant in San Francisco, followed by a second in La Jolla. Very dissatisfied with the results. Felt I wasted a lot of money for "snake oil". If there were a class action suite possible, I would join. My advice, not worth it, don't do it. I have seborrheic dermatitis, which I disclosed to them both occasions. Both surgeons said it would not impact the outcome. I think they were just trying to make the sale and rack up billable hours. No it looks like a complete comb over job and I wish I could shave my head bald, but I would have the two scare lines where they excised the follicles. Please, hear this warning, bald is beautiful. Just let nature take it's course.

I spent almost 12000 for hair transplant

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I spent almost 12000 for hair transplant and it was a waste of money. They dont tell you, you have to take pill for the rest of your life or have to keep spending money to keep up the results. When i called to let them know I'm not happy with the results. They told me to come in and soend more money.

Very crooked business

Bosley is horrible! They led me to believe that after 2 transplants I would have hair like a model by Dr Cornwell. I complained About the shotty job, and Cornwell lied and stated he didn’t say that. He really *** did! They have decided to throw me a little bone for my complaint. I met the new Dr there and she is very rude. she told me some people need transplants in the double digits. I promise you that Cornwell never said that. I give Bosley a negative 5 star. I regret not shaving my head and buying a brand new car. {{Redacted}}

The biggest mistake of my life.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Dr Karl Hekimian performed my hair transplant for my thinning edges in 2015. Three months after the procedure, I experience what it is known as shock loss-when hair falls out as result of trauma induce by the transections.

I was informed by the doctor that the shock loss was only temporary. When my hair grew back; however, I noticed that some of the native did not return.

During consultation with Bosley, Dr. Karl Hekimian never warned of the possibility of permanent shock loss. Also, it was not indicated in any of the documentation given to me review or sign.

The doctor finally confirmed to me shock loss can be permanent -a small percentage though-in one of my post procedure appointment. If the doctor had told me of this side effect, I would never had proceeded with the procedure. Doctor offered me PRP injection sessions to rectify the problem but it only exacerbated the issue . Two months later, my hair started to fall out and I have a big bald spot close to the edges of my hair.

In addition, the scar on the donor side is very noticeable. The little holes from the transection are also obvious. I am so depressed that when I see myself in the mirror I start to cry. All I think about is how bad my hair is.

My hair looked better before I got the procedure.

If you are going to do this procedure, I suggest you not to going this doctor. Him and staff are nice individuals but I think the doctor is incompetent.

Do not despair , there is yet another and probably more satisfactory solution for you.Other forms of hair replacement are often very effective and never disfiguring or ugly.Find a competent or preferably expert piece and weave specialist ; do not patronize the large well known chain, get a bona fide expert. Do your homework and find the type of person I have indicated.

I have been fooling everyone for 26 years because my technician is an expert and uses only the best materials as well. You will look like a million bucks for a whole lot less and feel a lot better than what you have described.

Still have thin hair

After using Bosley products for about a year. I have noticed over the past few months I have these tiny wax like balls attached to each hair and it is very distressing to put my hand thru my hair and feel them all over my hair. I never had these until I was using Bosley. Even my hair dresser couldn't get rid of them. So now I face getting my hair cut real short. I will never buy a product from Bosley again. My hair never did get thick like I was lead to believe. These products were not cheap and I am so disappointed. If I knew what these products were really like I would not have bought them so live and learn.

Experience was poor

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I did 1000 grafts in Philadelphia for $10,300. About 50% fell out after the first two years.

I contacted them for a second procedure and they gave me a price over the phone which was extremely high. I had a second procedure in my spouse's native country (Thailand) where the medical industry is much more friendly, easier, more qualified, professional and much cheaper ($6000 for 350 grafts).

They gave me better post-transplant instructions and the results were amazing. In a nutshell, Bosley had poor results , much more expensive and they keep coming back for more money with advertising and brochures to me because they don't do it right the first time

Worst Service Ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I scheduled an appointment for first consultation 1:30 PM, I was driving about 1 hour and asked permission from work to attend. I arrived 5 minutes late because of traffic and the Office Manager “Carmen Berrios” was so disrespectful cancelling my appointment whitout notification, stating the system did it automatically after 5 minutes (no one advised me about that rule), and moving the next patient (from 2:00 pm forward of me). She was unable to offer a satisfactory solution, and just asked for reescheduling or wait 45 minutes later. I was really frustrated about how this inconpetente person is managing the office and showing a huge lack of respect and consideration for patients. At the end I said, good bye this incident talks a lot what kind of company is Bosley and their office managers, and what can a patient expect from them as well. I recommend everybody refrain of going Bosley and find a better option in the market, there are plenty of good ones!

Transplant is only as good as the Drones doing it

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bosley - Transplant is only as good as the Drones doing it

I had significant hair loss when I had my transplants done in 2003. First of all, they didn't say anything about lifetime maintenance with smelly hair foam, special shampoo & conditioner, and prescription drugs.

Never mind all of that. I noticed that during the entire 2 or 3 hour procedure, all of the transplanted "plugs" from the back of my head to the top were done by 2 or 3 Hispanic "technicians", who did nothing the ENTIRE time..seriously...but gossip about unrelated stuff in their lives, while doing the procedure entirely by rote. After a week or so, most of the transplanted hair had developed white blisters at the base, and was falling out, as was evident at every shower. When I called Bosley about it, they said "that was normal".

Anyway, long story short, within a very short time, i.e. a few months, I was as bald as I was when I had $7K more in my pocket. I didn't do anything about it, because (a) I expected it to come back, but moreover (b) my life was in turmoil on my job, and I had to relocate to a small town in Florida. It has pissed me off ever since, watching the commercials "this is MY hair"...well for a month, in my case.

Since they were so inattentive and distracted, I suspect that the "technicians" missed some crucial disinfectant step (or otherwise screwed up) and Bosley just didn't want to take ownership of it after the fact, or maybe it was wishful thinking, that after the initial plugs and hair came out, they would come back.

I'm finally in a position to take action, even if it just means posting ultimate "Before and After" photos all over the Internet. My selfie doesn't look anything like the results that "Peter Brady" got.

Sound virtually identical to what happened to me, right down to the "lifetime maintenance" steps, gossiping Hispanics, the white blisters, and Bosley saying the hair falling out was "normal".

Hey All. I had *** done at Bosley April 2018, I lost many hairs, spent $7300.

and that Dr. Alpeter NYC, acts likes it's coming in, give it a year BS. It's now Dec.

2018. I told him I was told they guarantee their work and replace hairs that didn't grow back, he agreed, but

That sucks.

I'd be interested to read the contract you signed .

2003 ? You're right.

Not much to do.

I'd like to see the photos ; do up a nice page like an ad for a free look at your head. You can call the character Bosleigh.

Worse yet, after 14 years your $7,000 @ 3-1/2 % = $10,430.00

Armpit hair

They took most of my "new hair" from my left armpit. Now I look like Big Ern from King Pin and my forhead sweats profusly...and I have to use Old Spice deodarant to mask this nasty, smelly oder coming from head. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to have to smell like Old Spice.

Hair didn’t grow as promised.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had a hair transplant 1 1/2 years ago. I didn’t take pills they requested bc I have heard all the horrible side effects. Hence I like sex and didn’t want that screwed up. I did buy the laser thing. I haven’t had any change in hair growth. Wasted like $13,000. I wouldn’t do it again. I will call to see what they can do but from what I’m reading they don’t guarantee it.

No change for the better. Bought a kit and followed direction explicitly--as recommended.

My hair appeared limp and lifeless before I started using the Bosley system, then actually began to look worse: Nourishing shampoo--normal to fine hair--color treated, disappointing! Volumizing conditioner--normal to fine hair--color treated, disappointing! Thickening Treatment--normal to fine hair--color treated, disappointing! After a beautician had worked with my hair for several week, she suggested I began the Bosley program.

She had trimmed my hair, conditioned my hair, colored my hair and combed and styled my hair.

I actually purchased the treatment kit two times. Fool me once, shame on your company Fool me twice, shame on me.

Bosley transplant for women

2 months ago i had met the nicest staff any where. That is still true. However, the sales guy doesnt go over EVERYTHING with you. The things your really need to kno- like "yes, we know you are here because your hair is very fine and blonde-- however - do you realize that about two mo ths after the transplant your scalp will still be numb on top and also that you will loose more hair than you ever have and look like a little balded lady??? Just a few minor details left out--and for all this baldness we will only charge you 7k!! What a banging deal! My alternative now-- is looking like some sort of hair piece---- how sexy is that???? Seriously VERY UNHAPPY FEMALE CLIENT!!!!!!

That's why either accepting your hair loss or investing in a wig or two is a better option. Wigs have come a long way.

Go to a local wig shop and look around, be open and honest. They usually are very helpful and kind.
